Apple Unveils 2024 Pride Watch Band and Wallpapers
Tech Giant Apple has once again shown its support for the LGBTQ+ community with the unveiling of the 2024 edition of its Pride Watch Band and accompanying wallpapers. Known as the “Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop,” this vibrant accessory integrates the colors of the inclusive Pride flag and features laser etching that proudly displays “PRIDE 2024.”
Starting from 22 May, the Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop will be available for purchase on apple.com and the Apple Store app. Priced at £99/$99, the band comes in two sizes—41mm and 45mm—ensuring compatibility with the Apple Watch Series 4 or later and all versions of the Apple Watch SE.
The design of the 2024 Pride Watch Band is not only a nod to the traditional rainbow colors but also includes black and brown stripes to honor Black, Hispanic, and Latin communities, as well as pink, light blue, and white to represent trans and non-binary individuals. This thoughtful representation underscores Apple’s commitment to celebrating the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.
In addition to the watch band, Apple is also introducing a matching watch face and dynamic wallpapers for iOS and iPadOS. These designs feature a neon and 90s-inspired aesthetic that is described as “coming soon.” The visuals are designed to symbolize hope, strength, and unity, with beams of light that glow against a dark background, stacking on top of each other to commemorate the enduring impact of LGBTQ+ activism.
For the first time, users will be able to customize the Pride watch face and wallpapers, allowing them to showcase a spectrum of colors that reflect the vibrancy and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.
As part of the launch, Apple reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ organizations. The tech giant continues to back entities such as ILGA World, the Human Rights Campaign, and The Trevor Project, among others. This support is a key component of Apple’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, emphasizing its dedication to promoting equality and inclusion across global communities.
The 2024 Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop and the new watch face and wallpapers represent more than just seasonal products; they are a part of Apple’s broader effort to support and celebrate LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. Available soon, these products are set to be both a stylish expression and a powerful statement of solidarity and support.
