Breaking Barriers: Greece Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage Amidst Rich LGBTQ+ History
In a historic move that has reverberated worldwide, Greece has become the first majority Orthodox Christian country to legalize same-sex marriage, marking a significant victory for LGBTQ+ rights in a nation deeply steeped in tradition and religious conservatism.
Following a long and arduous journey, the Greek parliament decisively approved a law allowing same-sex couples to marry, with a notable majority of 176 out of 300 lawmakers in support.
